What We Love
About MONT HILL

Complete privacy in Landgrove. What remains of the 1840's original Timothy Hill farm are natural creeks, ancient stone walls and reclaimed meadows that once contained flocks of merino sheep. Today, stands Mont Hill, a turn-key, white clapboard cape, built in 1997, and surrounded by a plethora of outside places to socialize, exercise or unwind, including one of the prettiest clay tennis courts, a dining pavilion and cross-country trails. Scott Byron, a world-renowned landscape design firm out of Chicago, designed the extensive perennial gardens, which invite you to stop and sense your surroundings. The open floor plan of the house’s living area is defined by a cozy brick fireplace. In the kitchen, we love the soft luster of the counters made with local Danby marble and the very cool ceiling lights over the breakfast area. The house has all the requisite spaces including four bedrooms, a library for a quiet respite, and a large media/rec room on the lower level. Hooked up to media and sound, the “Shack Shack”, a 209-square-foot outbuilding, is another gathering place on the property, and in the colder months, a wood stove makes it toasty warm. Mont Hill, on just under 11 acres, is ideally located to take advantage of a vast selection of activities on the property; in the abutting Green Mountain National Forest; or at nearby Bromley and Stratton, and the Weston Playhouse.
